It is anticipated that ~ 90% of people will use the kayaks that we shall provide. If you would like to bring your own kayak please follow this link to further info.

The kayaks provided are two person sit-on kayaks which do not require any specialist skills to paddle.

You will get onto the kayak with whatever other competitor arrives at Vartry Transition with you or else you can wait for a friend.

Note: there will not be a time-out at the kayak, so any waiting will be included in your overall time.

You will be required to put on a life jacket in advance of entering the water and the boats must be lifted from the water and positioned on the bank as directed by the marshals before returning paddles and lifejackets and rejoining your bike for the next section of the race.

You will need to walk / run to the edge of the lake where the kayaks are located.
